Formulation

Each gram contains 25.0 mg lidocaine (KP) and 25.0 mg prilocaine (BP), preserved with 1.0 mg methyl paraoxybenzoate (KP). The cream base is made up of glycerin monostearate, N-methylpyrrolidone, liquid paraffin, isopropyl myristate, purified water, carbomer 940, polysorbate 60 and propylene glycol, giving a smooth texture that spreads easily. Pairing two local anaesthetics in this way is a common approach in surface anaesthesia.

Use only as directed by a qualified professional, staying within the recommended dose, skin area and contact time. High doses of prilocaine can raise methaemoglobin levels, and clinically significant methaemoglobinaemia has rarely been reported in children.
