Rentox 100U

Each vial of Rentox 100U holds 100 units of type A neurotoxin, to an in-house standard, derived from Clostridium botulinum, together with a small quantity of human albumin. It arrives as a dry white cake and is prepared with normal saline, which clinics provide separately.

Where it is used

The labelled aesthetic purpose is to make moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows look less noticeable for a period of time in adults. These glabellar lines form when the corrugator and procerus muscles contract, and the toxin is placed into that muscle group to reduce its activity.

Preparing the product

Add sterile normal saline to the vial. Once dissolved, the contents should look like a transparent, colourless liquid. The amount of saline, the units per injection point and the technique follow the official product leaflet and the practitioner's own assessment of the patient.
