Juvederm Voluma

Supplied here in its lidocaine version, Juvederm Voluma is Allergan's volumising hyaluronic acid gel for the mid-face, cheeks and chin. It is a clear, uniform gel produced with the Vycross cross-linking process and is placed deep in the tissue. It is manufactured in France by Allergan.

What is inside

  • 20 mg/ml hyaluronic acid, cross-linked with Vycross so that long and short chains are combined
  • 3 mg/ml of lidocaine (as hydrochloride)
  • A phosphate buffering system set to pH 7.2

Among Allergan's Vycross gels, this is the highest-concentration option, reflecting its role in structural volume rather than fine-line work.

  • Shaping and adding volume to the cheeks, cheekbones and chin
  • Restoring fullness where the mid-face has lost volume or the cheeks have descended
  • Deeper central-face folds such as the nasolabial folds

Practitioner guidance

Placement is in the deep dermis, the subcutaneous layer or on the upper periosteum, chosen by the practitioner according to area and patient anatomy. Like other hyaluronic acid gels, Voluma degrades naturally over time, and it is also reversible with the enzyme hyaluronidase.

Store the cartons at 2–25 °C and keep them out of direct heat.
