PLLA belongs to the family of biodegradable polymers, and the particles break down over time once placed. Rather than filling space directly, the material prompts the skin to produce its own collagen, which builds facial volume gradually.

Why the particle size matters

The manufacturer explains that 40 to 63 micrometres is a deliberate window. Particles in this range are too large to be engulfed by macrophages in the dermis or to pass through capillary walls, yet small enough to flow through fine needles such as a 26G.

Preparing the product
