Revofil Fine

For softer, more delicate work, Revofil Fine is the lightest of the three Korean Revofil grades (Fine, Plus and Ultra). It is a cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel enriched with peptides, minerals, vitamins and amino acids, and this listing names lip shaping as its usage.

Formulation

The gel is built on cross-linked HA. The added peptides are meant to hold back hyaluronidase, the enzyme that breaks HA down, while the amino acids, vitamins and minerals complete the formula. Exact amounts of each component are not given.

Practitioner guidance

Start by disinfecting the area, with numbing cream or a local anaesthetic if wanted. The needle is held at about 30 degrees to the line and the gel is delivered slowly into the mid to deep dermis. Puncture, threading (serial or linear) and cross-hatching techniques are described, chosen so the area is not overfilled; any excess can be worked out against the bone or between two fingers. Gentle massage and several minutes of ice help limit swelling. Going too deep may produce lumps or a bluish colour. The stated schedule is a course of three visits a month apart with two or three top-ups each year, or, for some skin types, six fortnightly visits and then five or six a year.

Handling and storage

Each syringe is used once. Throw away the needle and leftover gel after the session, and do not re-sterilise either.
