Ugen, also sold as Ugen Atelo Collagen, is a collagen-based dermal filler rather than a hyaluronic acid gel. Each 1 ml syringe contains purified atelocollagen at 3% (30 mg) sourced from pigs, and the product is used to soften lines and creases on the face and to shape the lips.

Formulation

During processing the collagen undergoes pepsin treatment, a step that removes the telopeptides – the end regions of the collagen molecule. What remains is atelocollagen. The porcine source is noted specifically as an alternative to bovine collagen. Collagen products like this form a distinct group within injectable fillers, alongside the more familiar HA gels.
