Unistation, now in its second version, brings three pieces of laboratory equipment – a centrifuge, an incubator and a shaker – into a single compact cabinet built for autologous cell procedures. Updates in this version include a touch-screen keypad, components that can go through an autoclave, and an incubator heated by a silicone heater.

Device overview

Spinning, warming and agitating a sample would normally mean three machines and several transfers. Here all three steps happen in one place, so samples stay in the same unit from start to finish. The chamber accepts up to 800 cc in a single run, which suits larger-volume work.

The touch-screen keypad replaces physical buttons, so settings for each stage can be selected from a single panel, and the silicone-heated incubator is one of the main changes introduced with this second version.

Clinical setting

Unistation is intended for trained professionals carrying out cell-based procedures. Several safety features are built in: an automatic alarm, a sensor that detects an unbalanced load, and a lock that keeps the door closed while it is running.

Handling and storage

Parts that come into contact with samples can be autoclaved, allowing them to be sterilised between procedures. Operation runs through the touch-screen panel.

Keeping the door lock and imbalance sensor in good order is part of routine care, since both protect the operator and the sample during a run.
