Made by Merz in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Xeomin 50 Units is a type A botulinum toxin supplied as a white powder that is made up into an injectable solution. The vial contains 50 units of neurotoxin, molecular weight 150 kD, with no complexing proteins. Its stated aesthetic use is temporarily improving the frown lines between the brows (glabellar lines) of moderate to severe degree in adult patients.

What is inside

Merz uses a process called XTRACT technology to strip away the complexing proteins, leaving only the active neurotoxin in the vial. The toxin works by blocking the release of the chemical signals that tell a muscle to contract, which softens the lines formed by that muscle.
